Here are my Top 10 Reasons you need to get the Best of Local Black Friday List FALLiday BONUS Guide NOW…

#10 You don’t want crocheted hot pants for Christmas. Know where to shop local and share it with your friends.  Share it on Facebook or email by clicking those little buttons below the post.
Unless of course you’re into that sort of thing, then I am sure you can find a pair on Etsy.

#9 Avoid Black Friday trample shopping at big box stores.
Instead, sleep in and get my list of Black Friday local boutiques and Small Business Saturday events.

#8  Give a crap.

Learn more about www.Heifer.org  . An incredible organization that supports small businesses across the globe. An animal from Heifer International—a cow, goat, sheep, llama or camel—whose crap helps feed a family working hard to pull themselves out of hunger and poverty. The crap—manure collected and used as fertilizer on smallholder family farms—increases crop yields, is healthier and costs less than commercial fertilizers, and can be used for cooking in a biogas stove.

#7 Real vs. Fake … The Tree Debate.
I won’t even discuss the arguments of a fake tree. This is drawing a line people, paper or plastic. You know which side you are on.
There was even a Christmas my parents decorated a tumbleweed.  A very sad Arizona Christmas thing to do, yet still somehow more authentic than prelit plastic tree. Untangling a mass of tree lights is what brings families together.

Did you know that local nurseries get fresher trees than national chains. Box stores trees are packed in snow and ice and stored for weeks or months before they are sold.

#6 Chrismukkah inspiration.

More than 52% of Jewish households are mixed faith. Furthermore, Hanukkah does not provide the holiday kitsch that comes with Christmas. Use the FALLiday Guide to find your Christmukkah inspiration. Included are instructions to create your own menorahments. Specifically, a Gingerbread house made of matzoh and gelt. Want more? Email me at Lily@locallily.com and I’ll send you a how-to for an 8 crazy nights advent calendar.

#5 On the topic of Hanukkah. Did you ever wonder what Jews and everyone not celebrating Dec. 25 do on Christmas?

Chinese food and movies of course. Get a list of my favorite Chinese restaurants around the Valley. You have to see this ridiculous YouTube Video about Chinese food on Christmas.

#4 Find my favorite places to see Christmas lights.
Or you can circle your stucco subdivision like your drunk on eggnog and see the same house 20 times.
Look kids “Big Ben…and Parliament”  - National Lampoons anyone ?

#3 New Years Celebrations. Otherwise known as amateurs night out.

It will be hard to find a party that’s not filled bedazzled jeans and lots of men in slimfit dragon shirts.
An unavoidable, unfortunate bi-product of an otherwise harmless holiday. Yet let’s be honest, when the clock strikes midnight, we still want to be where the party is. Get the FALLiday Guide for 3 sure-fire ways to make the most of the last of 2011.

#2 Avoid awkward family moments by downloading the guide to your smart phone and use it change the topic of conversation.

Over 50 pages of page turning excitement. Visit www.LocalLily.com from your smart phone or text LOCALS to 72727.
