It’s January 6. Do you know where your New Years resolution is? Too often dining out on a diet means choosing between what you want and what you think you should order. Then, there is the awkward moment when everyone else digs into deliciousness and your left staring at a small green salad.

La Bocca Urban Pizzeria and Wine Bar makes keeping your commitment to eat healthy and save money seem like a piece of cake. Menu options are reasonably priced and include salads full of hearty ingredients like heirloom beets and arugula or fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, onion, basil and balsamic. Add a perfectly portioned slice of crusty bread and glass of red wine and you truly will want for nothing more.

Need a nosh? The Med Plate offers basil hummus, babaganoush with warm feta, queen creek olives, roasted peppers and house made flat bread.

Environment also plays a role in satisfaction at mealtime. When feeling rushed, I inevitably scarf my food and often overeat because of it. La Bocca’s warm decor and relaxed seating encourage patrons to slow down and savor the meal set before them. While there is no bad seat in the house, during lunch hours I prefer a table by the window where I can people watch and enjoy the natural light. In the evening, it doesn’t get any more swank that the high back booth in the corner.

Make 2012 a year of less compromise and more satisfaction. I encourage you to eat, shop and experience the best of local business.
