Our gorgeous winters fall right into Spring on Jan 1st. To be honest, it makes me just a little sad that it’s 70 degrees, sunny and my knitted scarves are too heavy to wear. That being said, I’m sure the Alaskans that have been snowed in for the last 2 weeks would tell me to take my sentiment and stick it where the don’t shine.
Now spring-cleaning, that is something I can get happy about. The itch begins when the holiday decorations get put away. The combination of newly cleared spaces and warm afternoons always spur me to clean out my closet.
Lucky for me this annual purge coincides near perfectly with the My Sister’s Closet Spring Unveiling and Progressive Sale starting Jan 28th. It’s out with old and in with the new as I commit to consign items I haven’t worn in a year and pick up something new to accommodate my New Year ‘s fashion resolution.
Like with any good bargain I’m excited to share the story of the fashion treasures I find. I have an embroidered denim jacket I picked up for $12 that is my absolute favorite piece for spring. I layer it with a light scarf and jersey maxi dress with my Frye tall leather boots I got for just $80. Last year I got my hands on a classic Banana Republic military style jacket with matching slacks for only $20 and a J.Crew black Swiss dot top I had seen in the catalog for a fraction of the retail price.
On Saturday January 28, more than 80,000 items will be unveiled at My Sister’s Closet and Well Suited Mens Resale across the Valley. All stores open at 8:00 a.m. Click HERE to find the My Sister’s Closet closest to you.
